Therefore, after letting her sister be the star that she is, Solange settled down (even if it was only for like 5 min.) had a child (an extra cute little boy) dove into the fashion industry (House of Dereon) and emerged like 6 yrs later (present day) as a budding fashion icon and popstar with looks and sounds that even Beyonce hasnt done.

I'm late on posting this. It' been on my mind for a good 5 days now. Jay-Z (THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE) gave concert goers @ Kanye's concert in NYC (MSG) a sneak peak into the BLUEPRINT 3. The track: "I See You Jocking Jay-Z". The producer: K.West. The level of genius: WAY AHEAD...I MEAN SERIOUSLY..ITS YOUNG AND YEEZY.

He's gonna team up with 2 friends of his that own a line called Moody Mamas (catchy name!) and his exclusive line (premiering in Spring 09) will be called "Fierce for Moody Mamas by Christian Siriano" (not so catchy..). I'm pretty sure it will be a hit and ultra cute for mothers who still wanna look fab, not frumpy in maternity wear.

As I've been slowly transitioning into this whole "being an adult" thing, I've been entirely neglecting this lovely blog. whoops.. Anyhoosier, working full time while trying to maintain a pretty decent social life is incredibly tiring. So...here's an update.

• Sadly I won't be returning to PhilaU this fall. On the bright side, I'm staying in the best city on earth, home sweet home...NYC!!
• I'm working on plans for my 19th b-day coming up..which includes getting tatted....*gasp*
• This summer, my paycheck has allowed me to do some pretty fun things, which includes my all time fave: SHOPPING! My fall wardrobe is gonna be flipping awes.
• I am still living the single life. Emphasis on "STILL". LOL.
• I don't know if I should live @ home or get an apt with the homies.

There's lots more, but I don't know if everything needs to be posted. I really should update this thing more often. Promise.

The Return of Primetime TV!

Last season, the writer's strike had everyone's favorite shows hanging by a thread, cut short or just plain dead. Now that the writers in Hollywood seem satisfied (lets all hope that the actors in Tinseltown remain the same), primetime television is back with a vengance. Everyone has seen the extremely racy ads of Gossip Girl and the vague print ads of Heroes. New plot lines and characters are being introduced into a lot of shows. And I so cannot wait for this fall of all my faves to return and end the proper way.

Well. I'm posting right now randomly. I'm gonna try and type what's in my head. This is not a premeditated post. lol.

Anyway, the fashion world is still reeling from the death of one of the greatest fashion designers to ever live. Yves Saint Laurent, or YSL to people who can't pronounce french words or names (sorry, i take it a little personal..lol). He totally changed womens' wear and menswear in his era, and I hope that whoever he left in charge of his fashion house is...is...idk what to type...oh..is freaking smart enough to continue on his path.

Ok..had a little "freeze" moment back there. Moving on. I just finished reading the latest issue of Us Weekly, which I'm fabulously subscribed to. Is it wrong to be annoyed that John Mayer actually like Jennifer Aniston? Of course it isn't...he's too good for her. But whatev.

I totally need to go shopping. BADLY. I haven't made one summer purchase yet. That is so unlike me, but a lot has been going on the past couple of weeks. I wish...I wish uhhhh I wish I had a movie theater in my house. I wish my family could move into a new house immediately, I hate the shopping around aspect. When did this turn into an Oprah fan letter idk..but I wish I had Oprah's money, not for selfish reasons..ok maybe a lil. But I want to contribute to the world and its people like she does. I wish we can fast forward to November when Obama wins the election =D. I wish I knew how to drive so I can visit the friends I've made that unfortunately live in other states. I wish I wasn't such an insomniac. I wish I had a British accent (i think everyone secretly wishes that). Remembering Jaime.

I wish my best friend was here to celebrate his big 21st birthday today. We had plans to party in NYC and then Miami later on in the summer. He died last year to his 5 year battle with leukemia. I feel bad for not thinking about him all the time. I wish other people knew him, like I did. Life is so completely random and unfair. I don't know where he might be right now, but he's always in my heart and memories and if time goes by and I slowly lose the memories and the person he was then I never really was a best friend. I guess this is dedicated to my "warm biscuit" Jaime. RIP. ♥ you always. =)

I HAVE A NEW NEPHEW!!

Isaiah Roger Leroy, my new nephew was born yesterday afternoon. My sis did such a great job in labor and giving birth. I assisted the delivery and I must say that all the Discovery Health delivery/baby shows I watch came in handy. :D

I'm super excited to watch this one day old grow and watch him experience life. Yay me!

BTW, homie was pushed out and he's freaking huge! 8 lbs. & 4 oz.!! OD!! Here's a pic:

Catch Up.

Ok. It's been almost a whole month. My bizad. First off let's celebrate the fact that I am now officially done with my first year of college. (Insert applause and/or "yays" here)

Second: The next paragraph or so is dedicated to Kanye West.

I attended the Glow in the Dark concert last Tues. May 13th at a sold out crowd at Madison Square Garden. I was so excited and filled with so much anticipation that it didnt even matter I went alone. (Yea I know..) Anyhoo, Lupe was first up, had kind of a short set, but it was still freaking awesome and simple and true to hip-hop. Kudos Lupe! Next up was N.E.R.D. They were MAD HYPE! They seriously got the party going, and Pharrell was extra cute! =) After that, Rihanna was up...she wasnt bad, but she wasnt great either...we already know my feelings on her. Chris Brown did make a really sexy appearance during her set though =) Finally. The main event was next. Kanye took the stage and tore it up. Seriously, never in my life had I experienced such a thing. The man is single-handely the best performer/artist/rapper/PERSON to ever hit MSG.

I kid you not, IT WAS PROBABLY THE BEST SHOW IN THE HISTORY OF ALL SHOWS/CONCERTS.

NO ONE CAN DO IT LIKE KANYE AND HONESTLY NO ONE WILL NEVER COME CLOSE. I FEEL AS THOUGH MY OUTLOOK ON LIFE AND MUSIC AND ART IS FOREVER CHANGED B/C OF THE TALENT THIS MAN HAS. I AM SOOOOOO ELATED AND GRATEFUL THAT I GOT TO ATTEND, AND I WILL ATTEND EVERY CONCERT HE DECIDES TO HAVE IN THE FUTURE B/C THAT IS WHERE TRUE HIP-HOP EXISTS. THERE ARE TOO MANY WORDS TO FULLY DESCRIBE WHAT I FEEL...YOU HAD TO BE THERE.

One Tree Hill. Yaaayyyy.

Ok peeps. Haven't posted in awhile. I'm back at PhilaU from the shortest spring break ever..argh. Anyhoo I wanna talk about something that's dear to my heart...One Tree Hill.... lmao

Ok so season 5 is halfway done, with their 100th episode airing last Tuesday. This show just keeps on getting better with age, and I know I'm not the only one that thanks the writers and producers of this show for skipping the college years and going ahead 5 years. It was the best move they could've ever done. The storylines are better, allllll the characters have grown but are still familiar and the new characters are equally appealing also. One Tree Hill is still a fan favorite and should be around for awhile. And it doesn't hurt that my baby daddy Chad Michael Murray is one of the main characters.. ;D

So kudos to One Tree Hill celebrating their 100th episode and can't wait for season 6!!

Kanye's Glow in the Dark Tour will be rolling in at Madison Square Garden in NYC, Tuesday May 13th, 2008, and I will be there!!

I made damn sure to wake up 15 minutes before selling time (12:00pm last Sat. lol) to prepare myself to be real quick with the laptop and order my Kanyeezy tickets from ticketmaster.com. And bygeorge I got em! They're not front row, but they ain't nosebleed seats either. I am way too excited about this, and I will probably die happy that night. As you can see from the poster, Lupe, N.E.R.D, and Rihanna (ugh) will also be there, ITS HISTORY IN THE MAKING! YAY ME! I'll be sure to post any updates on the tour and of course the actual concert when it comes around.

80th Oscars....wasn't its best...

I was so excited to watch the Oscars last Sunday. Jon Stewart hosting, some of my fave movies of 2007 nominated, and of course the fashion are all ingredients to me fully enjoying this years Oscar presentation. BUT I didn't...it was just ok. There were no "OMG" moments, there were no "SHE/HE WON?!" moments, and the fashion was not really that spectacular...

One question though: Why in the world was Miley Cyrus/Hannah Mon-freaking-tana presenting, yet alone even AT the Oscars....?!?!?

Danity Kane. Day26. Lovin Them.

Danity Kane is back and better than ever with their new album coming out March 18. There album cover (though a little plain and boring with no relation to the cute title whatsoever) shows how they matured and they're ready for their sophomore comback. ALSO. Their new single "Damaged" is like on repeat in my head and definitely on my favorites playlist on the iPeezy. So if you like Danity Kane, because I LOVE 'EM, totally check em out when they drop out with fresh hits in about a month!

Day26 (the bandname has yet to grow on me..) is the officially name for the talented dudes that are on Making the Band 4 along with Danity Kane. I personally love them too. I mean Diddy obviously knew what he was doing when he picked these five guys, they sing so well, and after watching episode 4 when they first arrived in Miami, I can't wait for their debut album. The guys are so awesome, and extremely talented, and I think Danity Kane & Day26 (still iffy about that name....) are going to the top! : D

Here I am watching a marathon of cycle 4..or 5, and I've noticed once again how does Tyra mail get inside the house?!Seriously, does someone delver it...is it teleported from Tyra headquarters...? Ok, so this is the first and last time I would EVER post anything about Ms. Britney "should quit on life" Spears. But recently, it was revealed that she was undergoing treatment in a psych ward and was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder. I TOTALLY called that shit since the beginning of this train wreck...like what...early 2006? Sooo yea, I just wanted to let everyone know, I really did see all the Craig-like symptoms since the very beginning.

So, I don't even like the chick. I swear she's overrated, but her hair is looking so fierce. Even though she copied the previous "Rihanna" haircut from Beyonce AND Victoria Beckham., it was hot also. This is a cute pixie-cut, which she debuted in France at the NRJ Awards (which may be a clue as to who cut her hair). I first saw this (obviously)on Perez Hilton.com and was like "Oh my bob!" This is HAWT!! Even though she can't sing for shit, and is a pure pawn in the entertainment industry, there are some serious people in her camp, fighting to make her a real fashion icon. And even I'll admit it, it might just be working....

Ever Try a Dirt Cookie?

This is just a disgrace. The poorest people, in the poorest slums in Haiti have resorted to eating dirt due to food prices rising. The dirt is turned into and the mud is turned into cookies that the country's poorest people (which is about 80% of Haiti's population) make, sell, and eat regularly. As a Haitian myself, I feel like the world's superpowers are doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING except perpetuating the poverty and hunger problems so they'll always be on top. I know tons of people want to help out and try, I know I do. But often, I feel like my donations to organizations are useless because I am not seeing any change. So this is just a post about my frustrations and sympathy for the world we live in today.

The cutie above is a Canadian indie artist, named Colin Munroe. He was featured on the blog of the one and only Kanye West. Now why is a little indie artist getting props from Kanyeezy? It's because Colin made a kick-ass remix of Kanye's Flashing Lights. His other songs are really good too. He's really innovative just like Kanye himself.

Speaking of innovative...

Adam Tensta is a Swedish hip-hop artist that raps in English. Totally feeling his style. It's something that America is definitely missing in the game. I don't know about anyone else but I am extremely tired of all these ringtone rappers that produce nothing but idiot lyrics and dances. These 2 artists are super fresh and are really cool.

The Light @ the End of the Tunnel.

Ok, classes started officially for me today. They were great. I think this semester is MY semester. Ready to take it by storm. Just finished watching ANOTHER AWESOME episode of my favorite show, Prison Break!! yay me!

In other news....R.I.P Heath Ledger....another great talent the world will never fully know the potential of. He was making great strides in his career, and it's sad that he leaves behind a young daughter who will most likely lose her memories of her dad and be constantly reminded of her father through the public eye for the rest of her life. It really really sucks...especially while we still have mediocore people in Hollywood, abusing everything under the sun, and still manages to live carefree and idiotic lives. SO I wish Michelle and Matilda the very best and everything will seem okay in time... sooner or later you'll see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Newbie

Obv, I'm totally new to this. And I know right now as we speak , people are quietly judging. I don't mind. I got inspired by some friends and whatnot, plus I've always secretly wanted to be a blogger. Anyhoo, I'm Stephanie, and I just want to skip past the intro (you can look @ the profile) and "say"(type) what's on my mind at the moment.



Everyone in my dorm is screaming at the top of their lungs for a football game, Patriots and whoever else. Can you tell I'm not interested? I'm totally clueless on what I am doing for this whole college/registering/paying the tutition thing...long story. My sis is @ home preggers, and I really wanna be there right now. I miss having a male companion, like for a best friend or a boyfriend, orrr both. My best friends are so uber cool to hang out with. They are the "cheese to my macaroni" lol. And it is super-dee-duper FREEZING out!
